WINE NOTES:
Cecchi family becomes the owner of the Castle of Montauto in 1988. This Vernaccia di San Gimignano wine has received good scores from various critics: the 2015 vintage was given a score of 90 by James Suckling. Ranked in the top 10 for number of awards won among wines from this region: the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles awarded the 2013 vintage Silver. This is above average in popularity for wines from the region. Interest in this wine has been less conspicuous during the year.
TASTING NOTES:
Beautiful vibrant lime hue. Pleasurable nose recalling citrus and blackcurrant leaf. Fleshy palate with delicate, clear-cut aromas, a touch of apricot and refined, invigorating exuberance marking the mid-palate. Lovely purity. A delicious partner for shellfish.
